WHAT
A machine blows salt crystals over the face to remove top layers,
then light therapy heals and stimulates collagen renewal under the
surface. A layer of pure Vitamin C, or L-ascorbic acid, to further
refine skin (ouch!), is followed by a ten-minute mask with menthol
to calm redness and, finally, sunblock to send you on your way.
UPSIDE
Skin felt smoother, looked fresher; freckles faded, and fine lines
around my eyes were less noticeable.
DOWNSIDE
Stung like crazy, but my pain threshold may be low, and skin felt
raw for most of the day. Also, you can't wear make-up afterwards,
so going back to work isn't ideal. You must also stay out of the
sun and wear a maximum sunblock for four days.
